COURSE FLYER
RESPONSIBLE GAMBLING SERVICES (RGS)
This classroom based training course is mandatory for all persons providing gaming machine services in NSW.

Duration: 1 day (6 contact hours) Training is available from Monday to Saturday.

Would this course be suitable for me?
If you would like to work in a position within a hotel or registered club that involves gaming machine services in NSW, then the answer is YES.

Are there any pre-requisites for entry into this course?
No.

What will I learn?
You will learn about:
- Legislative framework for Responsible Gambling Services – Indicators and impacts of problem gambling
- Benefits of implementing Responsible Gambling Service practices – Responsible Conduct of Gambling strategies

There are so many RGS training organizations. Which one do I choose?
You should do research into each organization, request information about their course and choose the one that best suits your needs. Some things you should consider:
1) Is the training organization approved by VETAB (Vocational Education and Training Accreditation Board?
2) Is the training organization approved to delivery the RGS course by the Casino, Liquor and Gaming Control Authority?
At Star Training Academy, we have conducted extensive consultation with industry to make sure our course meets industry standards. We have also made this course with you, the learner in mind. Our main focus is that our training is fun, meets industry standards, meets your needs and prepares you to work effectively in the gaming industry in NSW.

How is the course conducted?
The course is conducted by an approved Casino, Liquor and Gaming Control Authority teacher at Star Training Academy’s training venue. Lectures, case studies, role plays, group discussions and individual activities are all used in training to make sure you get the most out of the course. At the completion of the course, you can take home the NSW Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing, Responsible Gambling Services Participant Manual

How will I pass the course?
At the end of the course you are required to successfully complete one written examination.
Star Training Academy also expects that you attend 100% of your class and participate in all group activities.

What will I get when I pass the course?
All successful participants will receive a:
- Statement of Attainment in “SITHGAM006A: Provide responsible gambling services” as part of Certificate II in Hospitality Operations. (which is mandatory for all persons providing gaming machine services in NSW)
- Casino, Liquor and Gaming Control Authority Certificate

What do I need to bring?
- Pen -1 Form of Photo ID (e.g. Passport, Drivers licence)
