Brief Overview
The RTO Shop, we have conducted extensive consultation with industry to make sure our course meets industry standards. We have also made this course with you, the learner in mind. Our main focus is that our training is fun, meets industry standards, meets your needs and prepares you to work effectively in the liquor industry in NSW. This short course deals with the skills and knowledge required to satisfy the requirements for responsible service of alcohol under State/Territory legislation and to implement the Harm Minimisation conditions in the Liquor Act. This classroom based training course is mandatory for all persons selling, serving or supplying alcohol in NSW.

What to bring: Photo ID (Passport, Driver Licence, Photo ID Card, Student Card)

Age: Must be 18 years old or over

Pre-requisites: There are no pre-requisites for this course

Who Should Attend?
If you would like to work in the liquor industry in NSW in one or more of the positions listed below, the answer is YES.
 Bar staff in registered clubs and hotels
 Volunteers, including club directors who have liquor service responsibilities
 Licensees of registered clubs and hotels
 Security Officer
Promotional staff involved in the sale, supply and service of alcohol

How is the course conducted?
The course deals with the skills and knowledge required to satisfy the requirements for responsible service of alcohol under legislation. The course covers the performance criteria from the accredited unit of competency SITHFAB009A prove Responsible Service of Alcohol. The unit of competency is from the Tourism and Hospitality Training Package SIT07 and it reflects the role of the bar useful, bar attendant and food beverage attendant and is conducted by OlGR approved trainers.
Training Course Outcomes:
Participants will receive Office of Liquor, Gaming and Racing (OLGR) Certificates

Course Outlines:
The course will cover the following:
 Identifying the Context of Responsible Service of Alcohol
 The impact of alcohol abuse
 The Legislative framework for responsible service of alcohol
 Strategies to prevent intoxication and under-age drinking
 Code of Practice for the Liquor Industry
 Signage and licenced premises

At the successful completion of this training each participant will receive a Statement of Attainment for “SITHFAB009A Provide Responsible Service of Alcohol and an approved by the casino Liquor &Gaming control Authority.
